Just a quick update to finish off 2008.
On the poker and gambling front it started off badly as my winning drought continued on as it had been doing since October 2007. On a personal note the year kicked off well in February with the birth of my fourth son Gabriel.
By the middle of the year the poker and gambling was still shit and something really bad happened. I had never really bet on the horses much other than throwing the odd ten or twenty away on gids' steering jobs and of course always had a bet on the national and the Cheltenham festival. In June however I went to York for my virginal visit to a racecourse, at 36 years young I know some who know me may find this hard to believe, but it's true it was my first ever visit. It was an amazing day and that was it I was hooked!
To be honest I have done ok on the horses and may actually have won a bit since then. Some tips from my online buddies have been returned some nice wedges and some picks of my own have come good also.
2008 has ended very well though. After a 13 month bad run on the poker things turn round very quickly in November after my trip to see thegame in Blackpool turned into me cashing well in the Omaha tournament at the Northern Lights poker festival. Onwards from this, after moving my online efforts from Laddies/Betfred/Bet365 to pokerstars and mainly playing sng's, I have managed to cash out £3k and maintain a $1k bankroll since the 28th if November.
Good Times!!!
I have twice attempted the Sunday $2.5m gtd but to no avail and the main reason I am doing this blog entry is due to the fact that some muppet has called my allin reraise with AK suited with his KJ off and managed to flop 2 pair - doh!!!
I look forward to 2009 and my main goals (on the poker front) will be to gain entry into some big live tournaments, whether they be home or abroad. Having played with the likes of Ian Fraser, Dave Colclough and Marc Goodwin and outlasting them all at Omaha, not a game I've had much experience of, I am happy with my game and fell I have nothing to fear.
Especially as I now have an official European ranking as a professional poker player, oh yeah you heard me right! you can find me on google - LMFAO!!!!

GUKPT - Leg 9 - Part 3...
.........I was quite confident on the Colclough table as it appeared he had given his earlier monster chip stack to someone else on another table and my own stack was of a playable size. I caught a few cards made a few position plays and life was good until Colclough, who was getting very short by this time, pushed from the button. It was my sb, I had A568 double suited and it was about a quarter of my stack to call. I figured 'el blondie' was pushing with anything from here and with the possibility of knocking him out the comp. I couldn't resist a call. I didn't re-shove due to the fact the chip leader on the table was on my left in the bb and after some deliberation, probably also wanting to knock Dave out, he also called. The flop came A57 and I slowly checked trying to look weak but the bb checked behind me. When another ace hit the turn I nearly wet myself slowly checking again, but the bb also checked behind me. The river was a six and now I had to put out a small value bet to see if I could make a bit extra on top of taking all Colclough's chips, but the bb passed up shop in a flash. I was looking forward to raking in the chips until 'El Blondie' turned over A6 and pulled them away from me......Doh!!! I've just doubled up Dave Colclough!!!
A couple of hands later I made a raise with AQTT and when the flop came AQx and I checked and the Chinese guy shoved, I quickly called. Unfortunately he managed to river his flush and suddenly after 2 big hits I was looking like a poor relation. Colclough got moved as we were down to 2 tables and close to the final table. With 40% of my chips in the bb a couple of rounds later I had to chuck the rest in with a suited T4xx, the T being the highest card in my hand, after the button had shoved. I was convinced I was about to bubble when he turned over KJ99 but I was never in doubt when a ten hit the flop - GET IN!!!
Soon after we were there and we had a quick 10 minute break before the final table.
Wow - final table of the omaha - how the fuck did that happen! I'm talking to myself in the toilets again, it's a good job there's no one around - ROFL!!!!
It was a tough final table with the likes of Dave Colclough, Micky Wernick and Marc Goodwin all making the cut, as well as ME! of course and some other non-descript pro's I sort of recognised but didn't really know - LOL! As short stack I intended to get busy quickly and at every opportunity my chips went in to nick the blinds and on the odd occasion double up. Colcough was the first to go, soon followed by Goodwin and now I was starting to get excited, especially when a few more went and we were down to 6. It made me laugh when Goodwin went soon after making a big speech about how we would have to agree to have a 90 second reaction time on each hand due to the fact the house had said there would be a chip count at the end of the next level. There were people starting to chat about a deal but as nothing was decided I had pushed allin with a decent hand and after getting called had doubled up again, but was still the short stack. Now the deal talk had got more serious and when Micky Wernick said I could have four grand and 6th place was only £2.5k it sounded ok to me and we all agreed.
We then had to play on for the trophy and a seat in some freeroll in Luton (whatever I've just done the deal of the century) I made a raise with TTxx and Micky Wernick called and with the flop turning a ten I pushed, only to have him call and make his flush on the river.
So that was it I was out 6th, it was 5.30am, I was £4k richer and 'thegame' was busy trying to talk Colclough and Channing back to his flat for a cash game of all cash games!!!!

GUKPT - Leg 9 - Part 2...
......In the bookies, our selection in the first race at wolves rode a perfect sprint and the patent was off to a good start, so we headed round the corner to the pub. The pub meal was 2 for 1 and 2 full plates of cheeseburger, chips and salad for £5.95 was great value and the food was quite nice. With our bellies a little fuller and a couple of pints to the good we headed back around the corner to the bookies to watch our next selection at wolverhampton, which turned out to be a good priced place. With the patent still well alive and a possible seven bags if the 3rd one won we headed back to the casino for the start of the Omaha event I had stupidly bought in for, which I was starting to think was a total waste of £250+25, due to the fact I had never played a live omaha tourney before - doh!
I sat down at the table and low and behold it looked like I was going to have to steal Ian 'the raiser' Frazer's blinds as he was two to my left!
I was too weak for the first few levels but then after calling with a speculative hand to the river, missing my draw but being checked to, I put in a big bluff and stole my first pot. My confidence was now starting to grow, I had worked out who was who on the table and I was making some moves and getting involved. The game had wandered back to the bookies for the last race to see if our patent was gonna make us happy no matter what happened in the tourney. By he time he returned Ian Frazer had managed to raise his way to his rebuy and out of the tournament and unfortunately the final horse had failed, never mind we had still doubled our stake. I had managed to double my starting stack by the end of the rebuy period and wasn't rebuying anyway, I wasn't about to waste another £250 in this field of pro's, especially as Marc 'Mr Cool' Goodwin had just joined our table two to my left and was hitting every flop = Super!!!
As the tournament progressed my stack was getting shorter and Goodwin was like an un-relentless chip gathering machine, he is an awesome player. As for Ian Frazer he was an arrogant arse, like his friend Jeff 'Jaffacake' Kimber, who also went out like a noob. Goodwin had raised yet again and I was holding KK68 double suited and after some deliberation I decided to make a stand with the idea that unless he was holding AA he had to hit. Everyone else passed and Goodwin called and did turn over AAxx and when the flop came J72 it looked like I was heading out. However the lovely dealer dealt me a runner runner 9T, Goodwin was spitting feathers and I had been given a second chance. I pushed on from there and built my stack nicely to a healthy position when the table broke, at which point, down to three tables, I was moved to sit next to Dave 'El Blondie' Colclough.

GUKPT Leg 9 - Blackpool

Part 1...
Last Wednesday I made the journey up to Blackpool to stay with my long standing online matey, the game. We had never met in person before but if he was going to tie me up and dry bugger me then so be it, after all it was free accommodation! The purpose of the visit was the GUKPT was in town and I was looking for a big game of cards and after dumping my bag, a quick chat and a cup of tea, we headed for the casino.
There was a £30 rebuy satellite into the main event starting at 2pm and it had our names all over it. With 88 runners and lots of mad scousers and drunken Jocks the satellite made 10 seats into the main event so with our combined skills we were quietly confident of a main event seat between us. We had agreed before hand that if one of us made it we would have a 70/30 deal on any main event payout. The satellite was self-deal and as nobody was stepping forward on our table I decided to do it. This was not great for me concentrating on my game but with the shit I kept dealing myself it probably saved me numerous rebuys. I eventually went out with KK when I slow played it in early position and on a QJx flop I pushed only to be called by one of the mad scousers, who holding Q2 off, was never in doubt when his 2 hit the turn. I carried on dealing until the table split up but my satellite was over. thegame was fairing much better however and had a decent stack at the break, but it was not to be and he ran into some bad luck.
I did feel rather disappointed that neither of us had grabbed a seat with 10/88 available, but hey thats poker!!!
Feeling a little deflated and wondering what I was gonna do all evening I decided stupidly to get a monkey out of the cash machine and enter the £250+25 Limited Rebuy @ 8pm. Then as we had 2 hours to kill me and thegame decided to go up the road to the pub with the bookies round the corner to get some food and beer and watch the night meeting @ Wolves, for which we'd had a nice little patent on three selections.

I'm not asking for much
I'm not asking to get lucky, I don't need luck only to avoid other people getting it. I played the £25 fo at DTD last night and at approaching 1am through a field of 150+ runners we were down to the last two tables. I had a reasonable 40k portion of the 474k chips in play and the blinds were 1k/2k with a running ante of 200. I was in the sb and the button moves allin for just under 8k and I look down to see 99 and its a no brainer really, however his JT is a monster when the J hits the flop 1st card. Next time round the utg, who hasn't played a hand since I sat down, moves allin for 16k and the rest of the table folds to me. At this point I still have 31k and look down to see TT, decide he has AK or AQ and its another race for half my stack this time, but I will still have 16k if I lose which is still playable. So I call and when he flips over K4 suited I'm in even better shape than I thought until the dealer puts a king on the flop - ffs!
The blinds go up to 1500/3000 with a running ante of 300 which means there is 7200 a round to steal, but with everyone moving in before me and every time my 1st card is a 3 I'm soon down to a pittance of 9k with three of it in the bb. The K4 guy moves in from early and it's folded to me and when I look at my cards it's 34 off, but so what I'm 6/4 I reckon and cant pass. Luckily I spike a 3 against his AT and he looks aggrieved - how quickly they forget. After telling him he owed me that one I steal the next one with an allin move pre when its folded to me and pick up the 7.2k uncontested and now have just over 20k. This gets blinded back to 12.5k and when its folded to me pre and I have KQ its a no brainer for me to shove. The blinds wake up with AK and JJ and even after picking up some hope on the turn when with 4 hearts on board I have the heart draw and can still hit a Q; but of course I miss!!!
Out 15th for money back plus a tenner.
I never put a foot wrong and played well with confidence and feel that should the best hand ever stand up in a pot when I've put all my money in with it, then I may win a tournament at DTD.

It wasn't to be.....but just for a moment I thought it was.
Well if the timeline run had continued into Friday then with the bets that went on out of Thursday's amazing returns would have nearly paid off the mortgage. Unfortunately it was not to be but it still turned out to be an amazing week for my sportsbook, which has increased seven fold from the previous week. I even managed to pull in a treble on the weekends football with the mighty Hull beating WBA and also Blackpool v Palace and Barnsley v Bristol both ending in draws; the worst odds of these three being the Hull win @ 21/10 - hmmm nice!
The red & white wizards also managed to get back to winning ways and move further up the championship table consolidating their position in the play-off places and hopefully it won't stop there.

Well I'm taking the day off tomorrow to spend some of my winnings taking the family to Blackpool, so watch out Townsend the Cullumbine's are coming to town!!!

Hose me Down...I'm on FIRE !!!
I am in uncharted territory and to be honest I'm frickin' loving it! Gids is most definitely a LEG-END with the tips he has passed me this week. It started on Tuesday when he passed me a tip for 2 horses and said he was having £20 singles and a £10 double. Now, taking historical records into account I remembered his tips from the past about steering jobs where he had lumped and then you didn't see him for days and was worried about his welfare. So with this in mind there was no way I was putting £50 on a horse and had conservative £5 singles and a £5 double. Anyway to my amazement they both came in, so when the following morning he came back with another tip, just one horse this time, I was straight on it with £25. Then just before the off I stuck another £25 on and it duly romped home. This was now 3/3 and I was really starting to pay attention and was waiting in anticipation for the following days tip.
This was now yesterday and when the tip came through it was another 2 horses, one at Carlisle in the afternoon and one at Great Leighs in the night meeting. This time I did have two £20 singles and a £10 double and it seemed like I'd been waiting for days when it came to 3.45pm and they were off. Unbelievably it was rode like a dream and came like a train to win @ 4/1 - hmmmm nice!!!! Now the wait for the 6.50pm @ GL seemed like an absolute age. I flicked ATR on at home just in time for the off and it was twitchy bum TV, it only went and won by a nose in a photo finish - GET IN!!!
Also in the afternoon I had had a cheeky little acca on the 2 nags and Udinese to beat Spurs (Cos' frankly we could put together a work team to beat them at the moment) and also Galatasaray to beat Olympiakos - DOUBLE GET IN!!!
For the grande finale' I had also had Ronnie O'Sullivan to beat Steve Davis 6-0 in the Premier League snooker after a nod from thegame (Another LEG-END!), at a ridiculous price, what were the bookies thinking?
What an amazing day, cant wait for today's bets - Surely 6/6 is an impossibility - OR IS IT????
Tune in next time to find out.....

Divine Intervention
I am convinced that Soton' had divine intervention on Tuesday night to stop the ball going in their net. The red & white wizards totally battered there goal for 40 mins of the 2nd half with corners approaching double figures and at least a dozen scoring opportunities. The only answer is that the aptly named Saints had help from above.
Or could it just be that Super Danny Webber is in reality the worst player ever to wear a blades shirt, nay the worst player in the world ever! However, it appears Kevin Blackwell is watching a different game as his post match comments held only praise for Super Dan.
Maybe it's just me - errr NO he is really SHIT!
This week has continued to see an ever increasing sportsbook balance, mainly due to the horses and some nice tips from gids. TOP BANANA!
All my football bets still seemed to be cursed by last minute up-fucks. Last night was no exception, although I was concerned when I placed the bet that Liverpool would spoil my coupon. I had won a nice wedge on a horse tip from gids but had also included this horse in a cheeky little acca with Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona; and of course the scousers let me down.
Last night saw my return to DTD after a break last week to watch England stuff the Belarus. I made it there at 1 minute past eight and got seated just after the start. It was not going to be an improvement on my previous visits' 6th place however, mainly due to the fact I was out after 20 mins - Doh! AhQs in early so I flat call and after a raise from mid I call and the flop comes J72 all hearts. I check and he bets 300 which I call and bingo the turn is another heart giving me the dogs nads. I check again and he bets 700 this time and after a bit of Hollywood I'm allin for 2200. After much deliberation he talks himself into about having pot odds and calls and shows JJ, of course the rivers pairs the board with another duck and I'm gone.
After a £100 disaster session at £1/£2 cash which ended with me allin on a 9 high flop for £24 with 79 into a £12 pot and called by KQ, who said if I have 2 overs I have to call - hmmmm, hits a K on the turn of course, I leave that cash table. At this point I'm thinking it's not happening 2nite and consider leaving but instead I put my name down for a 50p/£1 cash table and when they open a 6 seat I'm in like Flynn. After 3 gruelling hours I manage to recover £90 and leave at 1am to get home for 2am, so not a total disaster.
I will try again next week...

could I be on a roll?
As my good friend Mr Townsend mentioned in his blog I did manage to wipeout a field of over 200 and take the Ladbrokes Crapshoot crown on Tuesday night. I owe this all to two people, firstly thegame for reminding me it was about to start, enabling me to sign in and secondly to Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliot for inspiring me with his absolutely awesome display in the pokermillion. The fish was true class, highly entertaining and it made it one of the most enjoyable tv poker heats I've seen for a while.
The day after my crapshoot win I managed to back five winners on the horses, finishing a nice wedge up.
Could I be on a roll?
I hope so!!!

Stop Press - Madmac Reaches Final Table....

No need to rub your eyes, it's true!
I went down to DTD on Wednesday night for the £25 NLHfo and in a field of 161 runners, managed to finish a respectable 6th for £181. Not a great payday but it's my first final table at DTD and my first anywhere for a long time. Just when I was beginning to doubt my ability and thinking of giving it a rest, along comes a result which restores a little confidence.
A double up the second hand in when I flop a set with my snowmen on a K85 board against AA helped to kickstart my stack. I was generally pleased with my play, making some moves and some sensible laydowns. I do feel I overplayed 99 in early position late in the tournament which could have cost me my final table place, but managed to lay it down after committing 15k of my 34k stack to the pot. The blinds were 800/1600 and I made it 5k from early and got 1 caller in mid and when I checked the A87 flop he checked behind me. The turn was a 6 which gives me an open ended draw and having this disease where I can't check twice I bet 10k and he reraised allin for another 19k and after much deliberation I passed and he showed an ace. On reflection I think a flat call pre with the 99 would have been better but no doubt he would have raised and then I have another decision....blah blah blah comments please?
I was totally card dead on the final table and when someone is always raising before you and you don't have a big enough stack to re-pop, there is nothing you can do. I think this made me go to sleep but there was still no excuse for clamming up I was just weak and very disappointed with myself. This guy has just reraised allin with AJ and doubled up and it was my BB next hand and he was in the small blind. Now hands in poker are like buses, you get fuck all for ages then 2 come at once. So when he asks me how much I've got and he says 'I'll put you allin' I'm thinking his second bus has come right after his AJ and I clam up and pass my A7 off. Then when he goes allin from the button next hand I pass A3 off I have basically rolled over so they can tickle my belly and they know it.

However I am aware that I've made a mistake and that they think I'm tighter than a gnat's ass stretched over an oil drum, so the first time they fold to me and I push with T6 off, they fold faster than a cat can lick it's ass. My exit hand is when I push from the sb with after they all fold to me with K5 off and with the blinds at 3k/6k with a running ante of 600 the bb calls my allin of 24k more with 53 suited. The flop comes 664 and already I can see it coming. The turn is a K which I don't need but it removes his 3 preflop outs and surprise surprise a 7 hits the river!!!
On reflection I should never have passed up the aces in the blinds with my relatively short stack, but final table is final table, lets hope the worm has turned.
Feel free to comment.

Yeah, Like, Whatever Trevor......
Went to naps last night, did well in the rebuy period made last 3 tables yet again then ran out of cards and luck, yet another loss - yippeee!!!
Can't back a winner in the football so far this year, infact it's so bad you can make money backing the opposite of what I do, so I may start posting them on here so you can all profit from my misery.
Until the next posting of another disappointing poker session, I bid you farewell!

12 months - It's Officially a bad year!!!
I have just realised it's 12 months since I won an mtt on the IPoker network and previous to that I was winning at least 2 a month and averaging up to £1k a month from them. I find this very strange as I believe my game has improved over that period. Although to be fair I have had no luck live either as last night goes to prove at the £10 bingo rebuy at naps (Napoleons Casino) in sheffield. I end up allin preflop against one of the table muppets in the last 3 hands of the rebuy period with my TT against his 8T off and the dealer lays down 88K - I rest my case your honour!
And am therefore declaring it an officially bad year!
If thegame reads this are we entering the DTD Team league as suggested as I do believe it starts at the beginning of October?
You can email me at markcullumbine@hotmail.com or add me to your windows live using this email addy.
Ta.
Just a small update as this mornings mtt's @ im'a'fuckin-joker ipoker have just ended with the following exits:
1) 77 v AQ suited he rivers the flush - never in doubt for him I was expecting it all the way
2) My bb JT off min raise from utg rest of the table folds, i hate calling out of pos. but the pot value justifies it and my hand is also good. Flop comes TT8 I check and the utg raiser bets half my stack and of course I duly reraise allin. Now at this point he must know his 77 is fucked but of course I'm delighted when he calls and shows it and of course he knows the 7 is coming on the river!!!
I think after the year I've had I may go back home to the wife (Ladbrokes) with my tail between my legs and see if she will rub it better! If she no longer loves me and is sick of me running off and having affairs with these other sites then I may retire from online poker for ever, as my dis-allusion is so great!!!

Watch out - The Missus is Coming....
Just a quick note to warn TheGame that my missus along with a gaggle of loose women are in Blackpool this weekend. So watch out for a group of women celebrating someones 40th birthday dressed as workmen (a la the Benny Benassi' video 'Satisfaction', only not as good, obviously!) They are arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday - SO BEWARE! It maybe a good time to have a weekend back in Oxfordshire, consider yourself warned.
However, if you do decide to stay and happen to run into the missus - Please Don't Send Her Back! I can get a Swedish Au pair' in to look after the kids, it's not a problem.
Cheers Bud!

The Kat is out of the BAG!!!
Thank fuck for that.
Kat is out of big brother and it's not a moment too soon. For the first time ever in my 30+ years of watching TV I was about to turn into one of those sad cunts that write in to points of view, if it were still on, and write to complain to channel 4. I have never seen anything like it and I am convinced big brother was secretly slipping a daily crack pipe to Kat. The woman is supposed to be 30 and in a relationship what the fuck is she on? She is another candidate for lining up on Flamborough Head and giving a slight shove. There are people dying in the real world and watching this silly cunt having to leave the big brother house was like she was expecting a firing squad outside - Dry Bugger me with a fish fork and call me Roger!
Poker has been shit online, I'm playing mtt's on 365 and I've lost count of the number of times I've gone out with AA v a 2-outer lower pair hitting on the river, it's every other night. Two exits recently after going deep in the $35k gtd. have been AT losing to A9 and A6 losing to A5. I'm getting rather pissed off with it and also the fact that they pay down to 150 anyway giving 150th down to 100th an average of $42 which is pointless and takes $2k off the prize pool.
I'm enjoying playing live but getting unlucky there also, as usual!
Had a reasonable day on the horses yesterday but was only playing at it so it wasn't a big return. I am however considering a trip to the St. Leger at Donny next week so that is something to look forward too.
Finally......* Remember some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them! * (Kat.BB9)

We are Bladesmen Super Bladesmen from the lane!!!
Normality is resumed as the Billy Sharp Show hits town and the red & white wizards give the cash rich muppets that are QPR a lesson in football with an easy 3-0 thrashing. Even better the cocksure wendy pigs manage to fuck it up again by losing in good style 1-4 to Wolves to reverse their previous weeks score and put them where they belong, below us and heading south!
COME ON YOU RED & WHITE WIZARDS - THE BLADES ARE VERY SHARP!!!
Had a home game after the match and the low expected turnout miraculously turned into a full house of 10 runners, maybe it had something to do with the footie result - who knows? We managed to squeeze in 3 games, lots of beer, roast beef sarni's with roast spuds and yorkshire puds with gravy. I threw the first game to complete the cooking but managed a 2nd in the 2nd and split 1st prize in the 3rd.
GOOD TIMES!!!!
I'm off to DTD on Thursday to play the £50+5 super satellite for the £500 deepstack 4-day festival event and I'm hoping that maybe it's my time to win something big!!!
WISH ME LUCK!!!

and so it continues.....
Went to naps last night, even though Barry Neville rang me up AGAIN!!! I'm beginning to wonder if he has any friends. I couldn't of made DTD anyway as I was trying to figure out how to put a cot together without any instructions until 8pm and after quickly jumping in the bath I had to get the toe down to get to naps for 9pm.
My luck in live tournaments continues to be totally shite as my early hands in the £10+1 rebuy include KK beaten by TT with a T on the river and also JJ beaten by 77 with a 7 on the river, am I the most unlucky poker player in the world? - I must be a contender!!!
I actually manage to form a decent stack of 12k ish but with the blinds going up too fast, especially with it being self-deal again, I try and steal the blinds with a raise to 2k from the button with the blinds at 300/600 with Q9 suited. The sb reraises allin and it's another 4100 to call and I'm getting 3/1 in the pot if I call, but I sensibly decide I have enough to pass with 10k (was that a mistake - maybe). It's uneventful until it's my sb again and I look down at 67s, the table folds to the button who flat calls for 600, I make up the other 300, the bb checks and we are 3 to the flop which come 579 rainbow. First to act I throw out 1500 and the bb folds but the button reluctantly calls. When a 6 hits the turn and the button checks I shove my remaining 8.5k and he beats me into the pot with a call. Now I'm thinking ffs the cunts got J8 or a set or something and nearly fall off my chair when he shows 34s - OMFG and so it continues.......
I thank him for relieving me of my chips with his superior play and sulk over to the roulette machine to finish my toasted tandoori panini, where I lose another £20. Havin thrown £60ish at the comp. I'm light about a ton and when first reserve on the cash table is looking like a long wait at 1.30am I decide to call it a night. However I'm pulled by an invisible force into a seat at the 3-card poker, which is a good pull as my £20 get-out-stakes punt turns into £110 and I leave about evens for the night - musn't grumble!!!

Will I ever win a tourney at DTD?
Went to DTD last night to play the 50+5.
The journey does my nut though as they are still fucking about with the M1 and there's a 50 stretch running into J26 which feels like your waiting to be shot while driving through treacle. There also was a stretch between J30 and J29 where they seemed to be a river running down the motorway, crazy weather!!! Due to these inconveniences I arrive just after 8pm, which isn't bad as I left my house in Sheffield at 7.15pm.
I have a fairly uneventful first 90 mins just managing to steal enough to stay level-ish, then pick up the pocket rockets in early to mid. A couple fold and the guy on my right raises from 200 to 600 and I make it 1500, he shoves and obviously I beat him into the pot with the rest of my chips. He flips KK and pipes up 'yeah I thought you had the aces' and it's all looking mine until the K hits the river - OMFG here we go again!
This leaves me with 450 chips, fuckin marvellous! Anyway to cut a short story even shorter I manage to get it back to 3500 then get down to 1750 and shove with 7T suited with the blinds at 150/300 and lose to AK.
I lick my wounds and go and sit on the 50p/£1 cash table where first hand I'm dealt KJ suited but decide not to raise the 1st hand. there is no raise and 4 of us go to the flop which comes J23 rainbow. The sb bets 2 and I make it 7, the others fold and the sb calls. The turn comes a 9 and we both check. The river comes another J and the sb bets out for a tenner! I make it £30 and he shoves for another £43. Now, I'm telling myself he's in the sb and it's screaming J2 J3 full house to me but I talk myself into the fact that I'd have to be really unlucky for him to have the other J and maybe he does have it but no the full house. Anyway, I finally talk myself into the call and of course he shows me J3 - why the fuck do I instantly know what they have then talk myself into calling - FFS go with your gut - DOHHHH!!!!!!!!
£80 down 1st hand, great start and then I throw the other £20 in with 77 against KK and have to buy another £100 in chips.
You have to work the cash tables though, it's no good expecting to play 30 mins and win big, sometimes it will happen but usually not. It did finally turn round after 3 hours and I walked away at 2.30am £172.50 to the good, which was a profit on the night of about £72.50 - a decent night out!
The drive home was fucked. I make my way down the A52 towards J25 of the M1 and get halfway there when the road goes to one lane then at the roundabout a diversion sign sends me virtually all the way back to the ring road before sending me 10 miles out of my way round Long Eaton - Useless fucking cuntie workmen!!!

A Country in Ruin!
It's a very gloomy outlook. Every time I get into a conversation with someone over a pint we find ourselves discussing how shit this country is and as taxpayers seriously how much we are getting right royally fucked up the shitter!!! The crunch is here it's financial doom and gloom on the horizon for the average Joe who pays his taxes and pays for every other cunt and his mother who can't be arsed to work, pretends to have a disability like idlecuntyitis or is a benefit tourist.
Well I have a 3-step plan which this government or the next set of puppets need to introduce or I'm packing my bags and joining the convicts down under.
Step 1 - Bring back national service and when certain cunts refuse on grounds that they are not British then shoot them or send them home!
Step 2 - Legalise, regulate and tax all drugs. This instantly cuts crime by 60%+ and the stupid amounts of money they spend on trying to bring down Tarquin the student selling weed to his mates to pay for his books and lentils!
Step 3 - Re-Nationalise all the industries that are daily necessities for average Joe, such as Fuel, Power and Water and Food and stop these cunts taking the piss. They don't even try and hide the fact now that they are making buckets of money and still robbing you blind.
Oh and shoot half the MP's and all the MEP's for taking the piss and being fiddling cunts. Why do we accept this as oh it's just another MP screwing us out of our over-taxed hard-earned cash (WANKERS!!!)
Rant over - Thanks for listening!
Went to DTD last week played the £50+5 fo, numbers are down as with everywhere and now it's announced after just opening to 7 nights a week they are reducing it back to 5. Went out with KK on the bb after raising the pot value when the button and sb flat called. they both called and I was fairly happy pushing in the 962 flop with 2 hearts after the sb checked. However the button calls my allin and then the sb reraises him allin - haha! The button has K3h flush draw and the sb has 92 suited - Don't' you just fuckin' love it!!!! The sb had been calling raises out of position all night with shit like that and getting rewarded, so maybe the experts don't know shit as I seem to get fucked like this every week? Did nothing on the cash either was £60 up then checked raised allin on a flop which had 36s on when I was holding 45s for £160 and unfortunately missed when 66 obviously obligingly called!!!
Went to naps in Sheffield last night, which gets worse every week, for the £10+1 rebuy. Numbers are down as with everywhere and they have laid off loads of staff so it's now self-deal. Did nothing there either but came out £40 to the good due to the roulette, so it was a free night out which can't be sniffed at!
Just one more thing. If anyone is thinking of playing Backgammon on Laddies for real money, please don't. Treat it like a radioactive Leper with AIDS and beat it to death with a big shitty stick. If that game is not fucking bent then I am the pint sized funky mofo that is JK from Jamiroqai (if that's how you spell it) and I can't decide which supercar I'm going to drive today!!!
Until the next depressing entry, I bid you farewell.

Cash is King!
Apologies for the lack of posts, but to be honest, there aren't enough hours in the day and there's nothing much (of any interest) to report. Also the missus's money is now down to purely SMP, so she's spending even more of mine than usual!!!
Not bet on anything since the Dessert Classic Darts.
I went fishing the Thursday before last for the weekend, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but the two youngest kids have been really poorly so not much has happened other than looking after them. The five year old Alfie has had tonsillitis and the five month old baby Gabriel has had some virus, with terrible high temperatures, a rash and the most awful cough. It's always a lot more scary when they are so little, especially as you are limited to what the can take medication wise.
I have played a little on-line poker but to no avail and I really am getting awfully pissed off with it. I am really happy with my play but as has always been lose 9/10 times with the best hand. I managed to get out to play live on Thursday at Napoleons in Sheffield, where numbers have been slowly dwindling over recent months. I was even finding it difficult to motivate myself to go, when my mate Keith the builder, who hasn't been out for weeks due to uncertainty with work slowing down, rang me to say he was going and my mojo was re-perked.(It gets highly tedious going on your own every week and listening to your own bad beat stories on the way back in the wee hours)
Due to the lack of numbers over recent months we are in no rush to get there and also they have recently altered the format so new players can join in the first hour, with a total of 2 hours of rebuys. So we arrive at 9.30ish expecting no problems in getting in when the £10+1 NLHR only started at 9.10ish. How wrong we were, miraculously the room was nearly full with 86 runners already and no spare seats. With a reserve list of 8 we managed to talk the card room manager into putting another table with one of us offering to deal it, as they only had 7 dealers and one table was already self-dealing.
The tourney was fairly uneventful for me with only 1 rebuy and an addon, I went out not long after the blinds had gone 200/400 with a stack of 4200 when dealt 88 I shoved from early to mid and was duly battered by QQ one seat to my left. Keith was fairing much better and after kicking about winning £80 on roulette and £50 on the 3-card poker, I noticed a NLH cash game was starting so went to play that. They were playing £1\£2 with a minimum £50 sit down and the action was crazy with live blind straddle's nearly every hand. Some baby faced assassin sat down with just over 50 notes, who looked no older than 15 (I must be getting old) and made £800+ in 2 hands. The 1st he had AJ on a J high flop and wasn't at all worried when 4 people called his £50 reraise on the flop and his allin on the turn and it stood up. very next hand he rode his rush and managed to get a 4 way allin this time for £200+ and duly rivered his nut flush; and proceeded to tip the dealer (which is custom as it's not a house dealer) only £2!!! Obviously no-one commented (HA HA!)
Keith managed to fight all the way to bubble 11th for £60 at 4.20am (LOL!), in which time I managed to sneak under the radar with all the fuss over the young kid and turn my £50 into £570 an amazing nights work, can't wait to do it again, they were mostly total loons, asian guys with too much cash chasing any flush all the way to the river for £100+
It was the best cash session I've had since an £800 win the vic when I went with Richard (RickyZ) Robinson when he was playing the British open years ago.
Lets hope it's the start of a nice run on poker, it's not before time!!!

Don't Gamble Sensilbly and Concentrate....
Just a quick update....DTD last Thursday was a waste of time. I was out of the comp. at 10.20pm after getting short I move allin from mid position when folded to me with A3 suited and the bb who has only slightly more chips than me decides to risk his tournament with JT, of course he hits. So I move to the £1/£2 cash table for 30 mins before the super satellite for the £750 main event on July 19th starts at 11pm. Action on the cash table was mental....someone raises to £13 preflop and some gimp student, who needs some daylight on his overpale complexion, reraises from the sb to £38 and 2 people call one of them allin. The flop comes Q53 rainbow and to a check the gimp puts the other guy to an allin decision for £75, which he duly calls. The turn is a 2 and the gimp declares he has a pair, then the river pairs the board with a 5 and gimp boy takes down the £270 pot with his 24 offsuit. (wtf is that all about?) I was praying for a situation I could get involved in but it didnt happen and I left the table evens to play the super satellite.
The super satellite was a £10 rebuy and DTD guaranteed one seat with 20 runners. I decided before it started I was gonna chuck 50 notes at it and no more. Of course it was just like bingo and my 1st 4 allins with the best hand were duly outdrawn, the worst being my JJ screwed by 52 off when the board comes with 222 on - LOL! (I think I need to review how often I play 24 and 52 off) On my last rebuy I managed to win a 4-way allin with AQ and I was off and running. Anyway it culminated in me raising with A7 off in mid with 7 left on the final table picking on the short stack and having to call his allin raise due to pot commitment issues. He turns 88 and I miss which leaves me with 5.5k and blinds at 600/1200 with a running ante of 100. The very next hand they all fold to me again and this time I push with A6 off and the same guy, this time in the sb, shoves again and when they are turned over I'm facing 77, miss again and I'm out - LOL! - So I went home!!!
Went to Napoleons in Sheffield last night as I decided with fuel costs as they are I can't justify Notts. every week. It also allows me to set off a lot later, like 8.45 to play the 9.10 tourney, which is great. The tournament is NL Holdem with £30+3 entry and £20 rebuys. The crowds are dwindling as with everywhere you go as people are feeling the pinch of all these rising living costs, but 27 runners was totally piss poor. Now we come to the concentration part of the title of this blog, when half an hour in I call someone's allin on the flop with a flush draw, however it was a rainbow flop - Doh! Of course I knew it was coming runner runner flush and you have to be confident when your money is in!!! - Ha Ha! They decide they are only having an hour of rebuys instead of two due to the number of runners and so we break and I take the double addon for £20 which takes me to a decent average stack.
Now about not gambling sensibly! During the 5 min break I sit have a spin on the roulette and when I hit I always double the bet, as I find with roulette you have to play the rush (as with most things). So when it's hit me twice my third bet is all my 72 x 50p chips going on my numbers, but as I've just got them all on they call on the tannoy for all poker players to return to the card room. As I'm up £16 anyway I decide to Gamble Sensibly and cash them in, only to see the next spin hit 22 where I've just removed 8 chips and also had some on that block of 4 and half split with next door for another 4. I think being sensible cost me around 200 notes - Double Doh!
Back to the poker comp. and my concentration was totally gone as I called someone all the way with my pocket 5's not noticing he had hit his flush on the turn. I then flat called utg with AK with a view to reraising but to no avail. When the flop comes K95 rainbow and I still think I'm in good shape and my 500 bet is only called in one spot just to my left. When the turn comes rag 2 I push and I'm quickly called by K9 who fills up on the river! - Taxi for Cullumbine and goodnight!!!
Another bad day at Black Rock......

Lay, Back and count your money!!!
I had been looking forward to last Thursday for a while as I tend to with any day off work that involves drinking and gambling with the boys. As it turned out, due to lack of interest, Royal Ascot at the dogs was downgraded to just 4 of us meeting in the bottom bar at the dogs. So instead of meeting for a buffet breakfast at 10.30am, I actually put a few hours in at work in the morning then jumped in a cab with Shawbags to meet the S&N boys at the dogs at 12ish.
As usual I didn't back one winner at the dogs but then again I never do! I had a few beers though and Shawbags managed to pull a bit. We did notice however by having betfair on the phone, that the odds the bookies on the track were writing up were complete bollox, but this did enable us to discount at least two dogs out of most races giving us a slight advantage.

With there being no 3-course meal laid on at the dogs we jumped in a cab and headed to the Milestone at Shalesmoor to watch Ascot, drink more beer and have a bite to eat. It's a really nice place with a hot barmaid,a Michelin star restaurant upstairs and STRAWBERRY BEER, that's right STRAWBERRY BEER! There's no bookies close by so we were all on the mobiles using the account betting and even though I didn't actually back a winner all day I managed to turn a £60 profit with 3 places on outsiders.
The crew disbanded about 6pm and I decided it might be a good idea to walk to the casino for the evening poker comp. which starts at 9pm. It's always a lot further than you think and when it starts to piss it down and I have to run it, I arrive wet through and with blisters on my feet due to running in silly shoes. I was totally fucked when I got there so the first drink was a mineral water but of course shortly followed up with a large G&T.
I played a bit of BJ while waiting for a cash table to get going and won £10. When the cash table starts the local knob is putting in blind bets b4 every hand starting and £3 then rising to £10 the more he misses. He was raising with any 2 and hitting inside str8's and runner runner miracles and after an hour of not even getting a playable hand to even call they call the last 3 hands cos they need to sort out the card room ready for the comp. On the 3rd of the last 3 I finally pick up a hand KK and when the knob has gone £10 blind and 2 call I push for £27 and get 2 callers and they stand up and I triple up.
While waiting for the comp to start and with a pot of chips from the last hand on the cash table I head for the roulette. I place a quid on each of my usual numbers and the first spin hits 5 right on the nose, the second spin hits 23 and when the 3rd spin misses me I leave and change 4 ponies back into cash. Still waiting for the comp. to start I sit at the 3-card poker and proceed to win 5 hands in a row netting another £50 notes, which puts me level for the day even with the comp still to play and having paid the £110 bar bill at the Milestone.
It's 1.30am and there's 13 left in the comp. with blinds at 1k/2k and me sat with 18k. I raise in early with KQ off to 6k the table folds to the BB who pushes and has me covered. Looking at my watch I decide it's past my bedtime and time to do or die. I read him for a mid pair anyway so it's fold and be left with a very short 12k or win a race for 40k and I decide the latter is the better option. When he flips his cards it's JJ and not much different from what I thought but as usual I don't win the race and get a cab home.

Once again though, even though it was a poor turn out, a very enjoyable day was had and thanks goes to those who did turn up for making it so.
As for the euros I'm still alive in the predicta comp. I'm running and may even make the money. On an individual note I won a bit on the Ruskies beating the dutch although it would have been much more had they done it in the 90. Further to that I have backed the Ruskies to lift the trophy as they performance against the Van Bastards team was the best so far in the comp. for me. I can't see the Turks beating the Germans unless money has changed hands and I'm doubting it's gonna be worth a bet unless you are gonna put your house on it! I will however be backing the Ruskies to beat Spain of course!!!
Ooh just one more thing, Betfair have

Poker sucks by the way but I'm off to DTD on Thursday to try again, so If anyone is going I will see you there!

The Wheels Have Fallen Off!!!
All I can say is that I hope that the Italians bite the Dutch in the arse and knock them out in the semi's, it will serve them right! Van Bastard and his team are obviously in bed with the bookie's and no doubt the Romanian's have made more money in betting on that match last night than they do in two years back home; so forgive me for screaming ITS BENT!!!!
My book last night on Romania was huge (for me that is) and virtually all my bets singles, doubles, trebles and accumulators involved the Romanian's beating the Dutch. So the wheels have well and truly COME OFF!!!
Online poker sucks big time also and after progressing quite far in a massive tournament field last nite, when looking healthy, some Muppet re raises me all in pre when I'm holding the Kowboys and of course his AQ off suit is a monster when the first card on the flop is the bullet - right through my fuckin skull!!!
No doubt I will do my nut at Ascot tomorrow also, so will have the razor blades sharpened in anticipation!!!
It's a good job it's only money - ffs!!!

I'm Actually quite enjoying it - How Bizzare!!!
I am of course speaking of Euro 2008. It has been made more watchable due to the fact that I have peddled my usual predicta competition around Friends & Family and various local firms. We managed a reasonable 57 entries @ £2.50, so with 4 places paid first prize comes in at a respectable £70 for your nominal entry fee (Better than a kick in the cock!). More Importantly though it actually gets you watching the games and bothered about the results!
As usual I am doing totally fuck all, but I'm sure if I ever won it people would scream fixed! Although on a personal note I had a nice double yesterday on the Croat's to beat the Gerry's and the Cellar Dwellers to draw with the Pole's. I was down at DTD playing the £50+5 f/o but was watching it on the big screens, which aren't actually that big but my eyes are failing me. So when there's a penalty shout in the 92nd minute with the Pole's winning 1-0 and the guy in the seat next to me says it's to Poland, I resign myself to another loss, especially when it hits the back of the net with ease. But wait, what's this, even my eyes aren't that bad that I can't see the scoreboard looks like 1-1 not 2-0 'GET IN' I shout and when the final whistle goes shortly after, I've actually won!!!
Unbelievably, the croat's were 5/1 (how can you not take that bet?) and the draw was 9/4 on the pole's so combined in the double I got 19.5/1 - BUZZIN!!!
Back to the DTD live event. I bubbled 15th of 101, when short stacked under the gun with 10k and the blinds at 800/1600, 8 players at the table with a 200 running ante, I looked down to see 77 and obviously pushed (what else are u gonna do?) One call next door but one then a shorter stack allin and I wasn't feeling confident going to the flop 3-way, hoping they both had big aces. Facing 88 (doh!) and AQ I needed a miracle and of course it didn't come as it never does for me. Everytime I have been to DTD I've made the last 2 tables but just can't get to the final table, I'm sure when I do I will win it from there.
Played a bit of cash on Bet365 but had to reload when 55 hit a runner runner flush to beat my AA after I called his $80 allin bet on the flop with a pot of $20 on a flop of 466. I am really getting pissed off with the online, it's such bingo! However, it seems it's like the ex-girlfriend that you really don't like anymore and all the reasons for ditching her are still valid, but when you see her out and you've had some stella you just seem to end up in bed with it again!!!!
Royal Ascot next week and I'm looking forward to that one. They are doing another special day down at Owlerton Dog Track on the Thursday dubbed 'Royal Ascot at the Dogs' and one the guys has sorted us a table out, so reluctantly I will have to go (Tee Hee!) It makes for a great day if you can't get to Ascot @ £20/£25 per head you get a buffet style breakfast at 10.30am followed by dog racing then a 3-Course meal and Ascot on the big screens in the bar. Followed by a buffet for tea in the casino next door from 5.30ish and if you want you can stay and play the £10 rebuy NL Holdem which starts at 9pm - assuming you can still stand at that point after all the Guiness!!!
Can't wait......Come on Romania tonight stuff them Pizza boys!!!

Forgive me Father for I have Sinned....

.........It's been 20ish days since my last confession!
Reading Game's top 100 songs I'm tempted to think he rushed his list a bit, seeing as there is no appearence for 'The Whole of the Moon' from the Waterboys. I can totally agree with 'November Rain' but also see no sign of 'Invisible Touch' - Genesis and surely 'Borderline' is the best Madge track; although I guess music is like art - a very personal thing!

Although the floods were bad for a lot of people in our area last year, in my line of work they wer fantastic and saw a 65% increase in turnover in July 2007 and I am doing the rain-dance on a daily basis, praying for more of the same this year so I can once again buy a Porsche after the missus made me sell the last one, because it wasn't practical - Doh!!!
Nice to see a post from Gids again. I just downloaded 365 again as I have decided once again that Laddies hates me! It's all changed though and is no longer using the microblaming s/ware but is
on the same network as Betfred which I have also just got fed up with beacuse it's more like Foxy Bingo! Last year before I went on hols I was returning a tidy little profit of £600 a month on Betfred simply playing low level mtt's, but since returning for hols in October I have had no significant win since; and as an mtt player of my ability (toot toot) I find that hard to believe. The main problem is the amount of players and their bingo skills, if I could get to a final table I'm sure I could win it, as I usually do, but there's too much shit to wade through to get there. So 365 is out of the window, cos' it's the same s/ware and network.

Anyway, I'd had an email from 'Ace's Trumper' about how I'd apparently got some MPP's at DTD which were worth some real Grot's to spend in the club. Now, as a frequent frequenter of that luxurious joint I thought I would give DTD online another whirl and see about increasing those points, so I deposited £100 and after a couple of sessions of on cash I was up about £36 and tried my hand at the Sunday nite £5k gtd $25+2, which I duly won for $1500. I had some bits of fortune on the way but to be honest I was outstanding (TooT TooT! - LOL!) and when I reached the final table it was never really in doubt. I withdrew half of it to keep the missus happy and proceeded to win a bit on cash sitting with £40 the other day on a £0.50/1 and leaving with £186, but the last few days the luck seems to have turned.
I had an email from Sheffield Dogs the other day as we booked our works xmas do there last
year and have done again this year as everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, they have just relaid the track and refurbed the Sportsman's Tavern and the boxes at a cost of £125k and were inviting me down with upto 4 friends (Free entry, Race Card and Free Pint), so how could I refuse? One of the mates and me went down on Saturday night, although we didn't get there for the 1st race due to my 7yr old locking the car keys in the car when we went to Blockbuster's just before I was due to go out.

I'd only sent him to fetch the DVD we were returning from the car and he'd decided it might be a good idea to put the keys in the ignition and try and start it. Luckily it has a safety feature and wont start unless the clutch is depressed, unfortunatley it also has a feature where you have to press a button to release the keys from the ignition. When I stick my head out of Blockbuster's door wondering why it's taking him so long, he shouts ' I cant get the keys out' ,I'm thinking what's he on about. He runs over with the DVD shutting the car door but must have locked the doors with the key fob while trying to get the keys out, so when we return to the car we can't get in- marvellous!!! I had to call out Green Flag, who after eventually getting there took minutes to break - Scary!!!
Back to the Dogs, I had a mare! not one winning bet all nite. Even when two dropped out of one race with one in season and the other lame and my allways forecast was still on and I thought my luck was in; the only dog I hadn't backed romped it - UNBELIEVABLE!!! I had money in my pocket to spend though and I spent it, got suitably drunk and put the world to rights and managed two hot roast pork baps with everything on aswell.
Luckily my mate managed to bundle me in a taxi as I was heading for the bright lights of the casino next door, so the night didn't cost me too much.
I'm off to DTD on Thursday and thoroughly looking foward to it, I've not been for a while since
having the new rugrat. With any luck I'll be meeting up with Richard(RickyZ) Robinson, who I've not seen for what must be years!!! I also think that Ron (RocketRon) Barnes and his lovely wife will be there and my mate Keith (Wats) Watson is also going so it should be a good nite win or lose; although it's about time I won one at DTD, I've had some awful luck there so far always being there or thereabouts.

So if anyone wants to join us, feel free - It's about time some of us met up (Gids, Game etc.!!!)

Girls do still wear Skirts and Dresses!!!

I thought the art of wearing short skirts and skimpy dresses was no longer in the arsenal of the modern women.
However, I went to York races on Friday, my first ever meeting I'm embarrassed to say, but they were out in abundance. Not for a long time have I seen such a parade of lovelies and their legs, I was stunned. Skimpy dresses and short skirts with splits right up the side to their armpits were everywhere to be seen - MARVELLOUS!!!
11 of us met at Sheffield Train station and caught the 9.54 to york which arrived in York at 10.40 on time. We piled into two cabs and arrived at the races in in good time, only having to wait 20 mins for the doors to open. After going in we went the restauarant in the county stand and had a stomach lining 3-course meal with copious amounts of the black stuff. After the meal we had about 30 mins to kill before the first race at 1.40, so we spent it placing our bets and drooling over the top tottie!
I backed Bahamian Babe in the 1st race on the nose and it romped home so it was a good start and after winding the rest of the lads up about being the only one who backed it we headed for the bar. We set up camp next to the guiness bar and milandra burrows - LOL!
I didn't have another winner all day but much of the black stuff was consumed and when we moved into the champagne bar it got very messy. It resulted in me calling for ewwweeee in York station toilets and nearly missing the train, calling for ewwweee again at the station in sheffield and one of the lads being left on the train as it moved off for Birmingham!!!
Luckily he woke up as it was slowing down for Chesterfield and he got home with no problem.
I thoroughly enjoyed me 1st experience of the races though and can't wait for the next one.

Snooker Loopy
Thought I Should write something cos' Gids has told me off!
To be honest there's not been much to report so I haven't bothered, also I'm busy at work which is sad, but it pays the bills and with four chicks in the nest now I need to dig for worms more often.
The poker has been a bit pants, it's like a slow death. Having started on Harrington on cash games my interest was revitalised a little so I logged into Ladjokes to play some cash. I sat down at 2 short hand and 1 full ring 0.25/0.50c games and after a few minutes picked up KK on the bb on 1 of the short handed tables. I don't remember this happening at all in the 2 hours I sat at the cash table at DTD a few weeks ago, but it's all totally random and above board cos PWC say so!!! Anyway, there was a raise from early and all the others fold to me and I flat calling disguising my hand strength. The flop comes 9TJ rainbow, first to act I bet half the pot and he reraises so I push and he calls showing AQ and of course rivers the 8, so I spend the rest of the session clawing back my loss and finish 10 bucks down, how exciting.
I have been managing to watch quite a bit of the snooker on the BBCi and caught Ronnie's 147 the other afternoon, he's looking like he wants the title now. In the post match interview after all the old nobody's had drooled on him in the corridor, he said he was gonna lay it at the bookies in case somone else got one. Lets hope he got there as crucible history was made last night when Ali Carter also made a 147.
I've only had the one bet which is Stephen Maguire for tournament winner @ 12's and he's looking in good form.
The WSOP team league is looking like a lost cause but never say die, stranger things have happened, if we can all make final table the remaining weeks we might nick it - LOL.
Saturday brought another twist in the championship playoff hopes for the Blades , who amazingly are still mathematical possibilities, so It all goes down to Sunday. I'm not getting excited tho, too much still has to go our way - but I Live in hope!
As Han Solo said in the chinese restaurant - Use the forks Luke!
To be honest there's not been much to report so I haven't bothered, also I'm busy at work which is sad, but it pays the bills and with four chicks in the nest now I need to dig for worms more often.

Brother, Mother, any other Sucker!
Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups!

Week 9 in the WSOP Team league at laddies last night and the founder members currently lying in 7th have a great chancing of making it count if we can all go deep, as it's double points week.
I started off very quietly doing nothing much but keeping out of trouble. 5 mins from the end of the first hour just as thegame reminds me I can rebuy (Thanks m8- had forgot) I misread my hand and called a min raise with 8T off when I thought it was suited. Anyway I'm over the moon when I flop the Steve Austin (Stone Cold) NUTS! 79J rainbow. Broomdog who has some kind of serial raising disease bet out a lump. There was only one move with my small stack and they all went in. He calls and shows KT off and of course rivers the Q.

So it's rebuy and addon for me and as everyone does I'm still one of the poor relations. I make some no risk late position steals and make small progress. To be honest I played a blinder and when I start getting some cards I,m soon upto 25k and bullying the weak and short around the points bubble.
I feeling very confident but the rest of the team is out outside the points, it seems Ladbrokes only wants to take publicity retards to vegas because we get no luck when it counts. Well, who's on my table but Broomdog and his railbirds and as usual he's spouting off. I flat call his raise with 66 and when the flop is 974 rainbow and he bets out I'm confident my reraise will be the end of it, but he calls. The turn is another low blank 9 but he goes allin, of course I call and to my amazement, as I was expecting AQ off at worst, he shows JQ off. Of course the river double pairs the board with a 7 and his J is good enough, so instead of flying on elimating the muppet(who eventually came 2nd - of course) and progressing my stack to 40k, I'm down to 15k and now getting short.
I manage to progress back to 25k and then blinded down to 17k when in the small blind I am dealt 77 and when there's a raise from late to 5k I ASSUME he has AK etc and it's a race at worst if he calls my allin reraise. Unfortunately he calls and shows QQ and there's no help for me and I'm out 92nd, not the week we were looking for!
Chewing it over afterwards I reckon even if I had flat called pre with the flop all low the rest was going in anyway. BUT when the chips are low in comparison to the blinds I have been trying to stick to Sklansky's allin system, which can be alien at times but has served me quite well. BUT on this occasion I had ignored it when Sklansky had said to FOLD - DOH!!!

Oh well, maybe we can have a great run in where the teams above start dipping and mi' amigo's start making it deep into the points.

Are They Insane...?
Last night was the big one blades at home to the owls for the steel city derby, and what drama it was. Unbelievably after peppering the pigs net for 40 mins they pop one in against the run of play and we go in at half time 0-1 down. Having been the better side
in the 1st half I was looking forward to the 2nd but yet again against the run of play the pigs knocked one in and we were looking at a defecit of 2-0. However infront of a packed house of 31000+ Beattie's shot was knocked in off a clearence from their defender and we were back in with a sniff. 5 mins to go and Beattie lines up a free kick from 30 yards, with awesone technique ronaldo'esque and had it been him the pundits would have been talking about it for days, he pops it right in the top corner infront of the kop and the crowd went wild! The final whistle went and it finished 2-2 but we left feeling like we had won. Of course my scorecast was screwed as soon as the pigs scored first (united 2-0 Beattie)
Two numpty's on Radio Sheffield this morning were suggesting that we might have thrown the game so that the pigs could get a point.....Are they Insane???
It looks like too little too late though for the play-off's this year and leaves me wondering what could have been had we got rid of that useless twat Robson at the end of January!!!

Just a small word on the National and many thanks to Mr Townsend for his Comply or Die tip as it paid for all my other losing bets on the day! I also had a little e/w on Slim Pickings which nicely came in 4th only at 12's though; and had some e/w on Knowhere, which ironically came Nowhere!!!
Had a little punt yesterday in the 4.20 at sedgfield after a nod from one of the mates on 'Totally Scottish' at 12-1. It was running well until 4th from last where it left itself no room on the inside of the baby hurdles and collided and fell - DOH!
Week 8 in the WSOP team league at laddies this week and we are in decent shape at the halfway stage, lets hope we can make it count - come on 'the founder members'
