Week 9 in the WSOP Team league at laddies last night and the founder members currently lying in 7th have a great chancing of making it count if we can all go deep, as it's double points week.
I started off very quietly doing nothing much but keeping out of trouble. 5 mins from the end of the first hour just as thegame reminds me I can rebuy (Thanks m8- had forgot) I misread my hand and called a min raise with 8T off when I thought it was suited. Anyway I'm over the moon when I flop the Steve Austin (Stone Cold) NUTS! 79J rainbow. Broomdog who has some kind of serial raising disease bet out a lump. There was only one move with my small stack and they all went in. He calls and shows KT off and of course rivers the Q.

So it's rebuy and addon for me and as everyone does I'm still one of the poor relations. I make some no risk late position steals and make small progress. To be honest I played a blinder and when I start getting some cards I,m soon upto 25k and bullying the weak and short around the points bubble.
I feeling very confident but the rest of the team is out outside the points, it seems Ladbrokes only wants to take publicity retards to vegas because we get no luck when it counts. Well, who's on my table but Broomdog and his railbirds and as usual he's spouting off. I flat call his raise with 66 and when the flop is 974 rainbow and he bets out I'm confident my reraise will be the end of it, but he calls. The turn is another low blank 9 but he goes allin, of course I call and to my amazement, as I was expecting AQ off at worst, he shows JQ off. Of course the river double pairs the board with a 7 and his J is good enough, so instead of flying on elimating the muppet(who eventually came 2nd - of course) and progressing my stack to 40k, I'm down to 15k and now getting short.

I manage to progress back to 25k and then blinded down to 17k when in the small blind I am dealt 77 and when there's a raise from late to 5k I ASSUME he has AK etc and it's a race at worst if he calls my allin reraise. Unfortunately he calls and shows QQ and there's no help for me and I'm out 92nd, not the week we were looking for!
Chewing it over afterwards I reckon even if I had flat called pre with the flop all low the rest was going in anyway. BUT when the chips are low in comparison to the blinds I have been trying to stick to Sklansky's allin system, which can be alien at times but has served me quite well. BUT on this occasion I had ignored it when Sklansky had said to FOLD - DOH!!!

Oh well, maybe we can have a great run in where the teams above start dipping and mi' amigo's start making it deep into the points.
Remember - Guns are for show, Knives for a pro!
