MADMAC's GET ON.....

Forgive me father for I have sinned it has been nearly 2 months since my last confession.

So here it is.....

3.45 Royal Ascot 9. Rainbow View - 4pt e/w

This is currently an 8/1 shot with laddies and you can no doubt get better elsewhere, fill your boots.

Don't forget you heard it here first - GL punters.

MADMAC's GET ON.....

Firstly I'd like to apologise for the lack of posts lately but i've been really busy at work.

To start with there's a little recap on the last 2 weeks live poker at DTD, which began last weds. with no luck and an early exit from the £25 NLH fo and led to a £2/£2 round of each cash table. This was disastrous and began with the Holdem round when after flopping top set on a 678 flop 99 rivered his 9 to take the £400 pot. The game was good tho with plenty of numpty's and plenty of cash on the table so I reloaded for another £200. Onto the Omaha round and after a debatable value call with Qc7cQh3h the flop comes QJ4 rainbow and after betting out for £35 I get 1 caller on my left. The turn is 5c which now gives me top set and a flush draw and with me 1st to act I push for my remaining £150 and get called after much deliberation by KTxx who rivers a bullet. £400 down in no time at all I decide its not my night, wave the white flag and drive off home with my tail between my legs.

Last night it's like Dejavu as I play 3 hands in the tournament and exit early yet again.

Hand 1) KK double up to 6k after pushing allin on the flop and the flush draw misses.
Hand 2) AK flat call in early and reraise allin pre called by QQ who hits a set on the flop
down to 4k
Hand 3) 88 on the bb push allin pre after 2 flat callers - lol called by A3 off who rivers the A.

Onto the £1/2 NL Holdem cash and after flat calling in early with AA someone raises to 12 another calls and I reraise to 35 and it goes call, allin for 10 more which we both call. The flop comes KQx and I move allin the other guy passes and the allin fish has KQ off of course. After hours of pissing about I leave at 1am £250 down for the night. Super!!!

It's a good job it's only money!!!

Onto today's horses and I have put on placepots at Hereford, Towcester, Southwell and Carlisle and if anyone's interested here they are:

Southwell

14.20 Jeremiah 14.55 Swiss Art 15.30 The Tatling 16.05 Dispol Grand 16.40 Supsonic 17.15 Green Agenda

MADMAC's GET ON.....

Yesterday was a case of 'so close but not coconut' with 3 placing out of the e/w L15 and two of those 2nd in a photo finish where they lost literally by a bogey. In fact in the case of 'Head to Kerry' the trading at betfair when they were waiting for confirmation of the result was as close as 1.18 v 1.24. My other ones to watch saved my day with 3 winners and in hindsight, which is always a wonderful thing, I perhaps should have done two lucky 15's yesterday.

Last night saw me venture to DTD for the £25 f/o which was pants. I may have to put it in the records books as the worst session of poker I have ever played for the trash hole cards I was dealt, it really was awful. Of course this meant an earlyish exit from the comp. just after the 1st break. I then played some £1/£2 NL Holdem cash where my hole cards continued to be 92 72 95 62 etc. even though they regularly change the dealers. I was so bored K7 suited looked massive and when I hit bottom pair on the flop I check raised allin for my remaining £45 with it; and of course lost. This left me with £13, and as usually happens when you have no chips, flopped a monster flop of 664 with 64 in the bb, which tripled me upto £40. I then pushed on and started to get busy and even after building back to £100 then going back down to £20 after reraising allin on the flop with 15 outs and missing, I still managed to leave the table at 1am with £200. This meant a profit of £50 on the cash game and after deducting the comp. entry, a profit of £20 for the night.

A brush with the law.....

Unfortunately, after deciding to avoid the motorway on the way home, I was pulled by the filth who's computer claimed my test was out of date on the car. So after a little chat I was given a producer and upon checking this morning it ran out 3rd February - Doh!!!

Anyway enough about me, here are today's fancies:

Wincanton

14.30 - Sashenka - 2nd

Carlisle

15.45 - Supremes Legacy - placed 3rd

A Harsh Lesson in Greed...

Today I have learnt that greed leads to disappointment.

Being a season ticket holder at Bramall lane, I was absolutely certain that we would lose at home to Hull city today and when the price on Hull was 2.9 on betfair I had to wade in to at least gain something from the match. i.e. money in my pocket to soften the blow of our exit from the FA cup. Due to injuries and cup-tied players the blades were very thin on the ground and Blackwell had to field a team consisting of many of his fringe players, which ironically turned out to be the best 11 he has fielded all season - Doh!!!

We were actually playing football on the floor stringing passes together instead of the usual balloon extravaganza that takes place and amazingly early on, we scored 1st and went infront through Greg Halford; who Blackwell usual plays at the back or on the wide right. Now at this point odds on Hull went to 8.2 on betfair, which obviously meant I had to put another £50 on. This took my book on the match to +635 Hull -200 Sheff.Utd and when the inevitable happened and Hull equalised I could have laid them @ 3.8 for £200 and gone all green on the match for a book of +75 Hull and all my stake back for any other result.

I was pondering this decision all the way through half-time between sips of my lip burning black coffee and bites of a luke warm sausage roll, but kept looking at the +635 on Hull and decided to wait a bit. When the clock hit 26mins into the 2nd half I checked the odds again and the 3.8 lay was still available. Again I kept staring at the +635 Hull and when the clock hit 30 mins hit the submit key on the mobile phone, unfortunately it was too late and the lay wasn't matched. When the odds refreshed it was now 7.2 and all that was left was to hope that Hull scored in the last 15mins.

I found this all very uncomfortable hoping that Hull would score and knock us out of the cup, but lets face it money is money and we won't make Wembley anyway. Of course the inevitable happened and the game finished 1-1 and it's a replay at the KC.

The moral of this story is........always get your book green when the opportunity arises because greed leads to misery!!!

Saturday's Football Bets

I have studied tomorrows footie and it all looks very ropey with lots of draws.

As usual I have tried to select wins with positive odds and all I could find were these 3:

Hull City to beat Sheff. U @ 9/5
Darlington to beat Lincoln @ 13/8
Rotherham to beat Gillingham @ 5/4

The prices are from laddies so you can probably get better elsewhere. I've simply had a £15 treble which pays £248.06 and I'm already working out what to invest it on next week.

Friday the 13th - ooooh scary!!!!!

Just a bit of a catch up...

Recently my sports betting has gone from strength to strength, all stemming from a returned stake when I went all green on the superbowl 2 weeks before the game. I've had some decent results on the horses, darts and recent success on the football with singles on Sheff.Utd's opposition; namely Donny Rovers and the pigs. (sheff.Weds.)

And tomorrow will be strike 3 on the football as it appears David Blunkett has priced up the Hull v Sheff U match. I was discussing it with a friend of mine and said that if Hull were anywhere near evens I was lumping on it, so when I saw the staggering 15/8 at betfair I fell off my chair and waded in for £250.

If you have a football bet this weekend this is a must!!!

As someone famous once said - Get on it. GET ON IT LARGE!!!!

As for todays racing here are my selections, treat them with the contempt they deserve:

14.45 @ Lingfield - Hawkspring

15.20 @ Lingfield - Mr Chocolate Drop

16.20 @ Sandown - Gabreselassie

16.40 @ Wolves. - Incomparable

As someone else famous always says - TTFN.

Today's Bets so far....

I have followed thegame's darts selection to the letter at £10/point other than I have had a 7pt win on Taylor for the tournament, only because it makes my return over a ton rather than under it. So I hope we can celebrate the success together with a pint again sometime soon!

Following my recent success in ridiculously over-priced football bets I have placed a pony on the Hammers to, well, Hammer the Gunners basically. At 7/1 I again think this is well over-priced as with the Donny bet and after observing the last performances of both West Ham and Arsenal I do think the Hammers can win. Of course, it's a bet I'm looking to trade if West Ham get a good start and have already set up a lay for in-play.

My other football bet for tomorrow is, as usual, 5 selections all with positive odds, with £1 trebles and a £5 acca. and the selections are as follows:

Manchester City to beat Stoke City away @5/4
Tottenham to beat Bolton away @6/4
Doncaster to beat Norwich at home @6/5
Preston to beat Sheff.United at home @5/4
Reading to beat QPR away @13/8

Now if I were you I would do totally the opposite to this as I haven't had a football multiple come up in well over 12 months. You may also notice that I am again backing against my beloved blades but I went on Tuesday when Donny beat us and we were total shite. We could have played for 3 hours and not scored. They played football and we played Volleyball and there were times when our team couldn't find the ball because Donny had it and it was on the floor. Apparently Kevin Blackwell(A former Keeper) was overheard by a fan who sits just behind the dug-out saying to his number 2(Also a former Keeper) 'Do you think we are kicking it high enough?' - God help us all!!!

I have looked at the racing today and be honest it mostly is boring as fuck so I may not have a bet today. Then again I am drawn to 'Whatcanyasay' in the 14.00 @ catterick and may have this in a double with 'Northern Empire' in the 19.50 @ Wolverhampton and probably some singles awell - doh!

Some close friends and family members have made me an appointment at GA but with all this gambling I don't think I will have time to attend - ROFL!!!!

Every Cloud...

As amazing as thegame's 2.44 price on the Villa coup was on betfair, it was nowhere near as crazy as the jaw dropping 5.2 I found for Donny Rovers to beat my beloved Sheff. United. The blades were piss poor but when money is to be made I have no problem backing the opposition. As they say - every cloud has a silver lining!

On another note, I was off work today looking after my youngest and whilst he was having his morning nap I properly studied the days racing and came up with 3 selections, on which I had a £2 e/w patent. They were Saffin (2nd @ 14's), Back in the Red (Winner @ 11/2) and Prince of Persia (Disappointing 3rd @ 7/2). My return was £109ish, another close but no cigar!!!

Tomorrow is another day....
